She was amongst the top track and field athletes in the Country and Caribbean Region. In 1978, Maryann Higgs-Clarke won the first Austin Sealy Award for The Bahamas at The Carifta Games held in The Bahamas. St. Augustine's College honors DR. KIM SCRIVEN with the Lighthouse Alumni Achievement Award! Dr. Kim Scriven is Head of Audiology and Operations at the hearLIFE Clinic Nassau. She operates a private practice offering all aspects of audiological and hearing management services to individuals of all ages with all types of hearing disorders. In 2006, Dr. Scriven initiated a program to provide free hearing aids and maintenance to the less fortunate children in the country ,“The Gift of Hearing”. Dr. Minnis graduated from SAC in 1971 and credits his experience at SAC for moulding his character for life. St. Augustine's College honors with the SHAUNAE MILLER-IBO with the Rising Star Award! Shaunae showed signs of greatness while still a student of SAC when she earned the 400 m gold medallist at the 2010 World Junior and 2011 World Youth Championships before taking her first senior medal (a bronze) at the 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships. She was the 400 metres Olympic champion in 2016 and was the 200 metres gold medallist at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. She is the fastest Bahamian over 400 m with 48.97 seconds (Monaco Diamond league 2018).
